writing i'll have a go

Green is such a weird color.

The color of the earth. Living things. Strength and growth and what lies beyond.

Sam wondered about this bit of green moss in a cave called "the wonder cave".

It was situated near the ocean and inside the whole bottom was filled with sand. Until you reached the back. Then you started to find green moss. When Sam and his friend Winnie first discovered that new place, and they realized it hadn't really been searched before recently, and it was "their spot", they mused that it might have been seaweed and the surf had flooded the cave and a bit of seaweed had started to grow in the back of the cave. Winnie said that was absolutely impossible since there was no sunlight back there.

Winnie was Sam's best friend. They were both 15, in the prime of their youth. Allowed to ride their bikes pretty much anywhere their bodies could carry them as long as they could get home at night, yet they had been friends for so long they didn't have a budding sexual interest. They told each other everything. All the gorey details. Sam was pretty sure that was why he didn't like Winnie that way. Winnie had recently confessed to getting her first period, as to which Sam responded, "Ew, did it all just, come out at once, or was like... sort of something unexpected?" Winnie pretty much went into full detail and they had laughed about it, and Sam told Winnie he was glad he wasn't there to "share the experience... "HA HA".

But they were currently in the cave and Winnie had a flashlight and she was admiring the scale of the green moss.  "Sam, do you think it's possible that the moss was put here, to hide something?"

Sam mused, "What, like a trap door? Winnie, you've gone full SCOOBSTER... hahahaha!"
