what if drama didn't exist.
what if it was only writing and reading, and there was no acting?
what would you do?
is acting really art?
i've been questioning that lately.
i understand that people's entire lives are put into that business
and it's really a lot of fun
and it's really an emotional thing and it's very expressive.
but is it art?
i don't think it is.
there are art forms involved..
painting and design.
writing...
costume design
but direction
acting.
i can't see that as art.
dancing is art.
singing is art.
i always thought film was art.
everyone told me it was art.
i always believed it was.
i took a philosophy of film class where the teacher challenged us with the question of whether or not photography or film in general was art.
i said it was.
but now i don't think it is.
even acting in a play.
memorizing lines.
doing things over and over.
staged a certain way?
it's just posing.
it's smoke and mirrors
and i don't like the deception.
i want to go into a fantasy and enjoy it,
i understand why it's there and why it works
and i'm not going to stop going to the movies or stop watching tv
i'm just going to be an even harsher critic than i was before if that's even possible.
i'm worried about everything now.
people influenced by it
people doing it
everything
our world is a mess.
*single tear*
